Role Description
This is an on-site full-time role located in Lagos for an Engineering Geologist. The role involves overseeing all aspects of foundation investigations, construction activities, and on-site operations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in compliance with standards.
Responsibilities
Supervise foundation investigations and the installation/construction of project works.
Oversee and monitor both on-site and laboratory soil sample analyses.
Conduct Pile Integrity Tests (PIT).
Perform structural integrity assessments, including ultrasonic testing.
Manage health, safety, and environmental (HSE) issues on-site.
Supervise drillers, casters, and iron benders during site operations.
Collaborate with surveyors to establish accurate points for pile installation.
Determine appropriate equipment and material quantities required for project execution.
Ensure timely delivery of necessary equipment and materials to the site.
Oversee equipment test-runs to verify operational effectiveness.
Supervise equipment setup to ensure readiness for work commencement.
Collaborate with the project manager on budgeting, cost control, and financial accountability.
Manage on-site equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements on-site.
Deliver projects with optimal quality while maintaining cost efficiency.
Oversee end-to-end project execution from initiation to completion.
Prepare and submit periodic progress and completion reports within stipulated timelines.
