Job Summary
As an Electrical Engineer with Andster Engineering, you will be responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, automation engineers and project managers, to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components, including power distribution systems, control systems, and circuitry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of electrical systems with other project elements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed projects.
- Perform calculations and simulations to optimise system performance and efficiency.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and reports.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during the development and implementation phases.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering technology.
- Manage the coordination and execution of electrical engineering projects.
- Follow safety protocols and practices related to electrical systems on projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of relevant work experience required in engineering or related fields.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, LabVIEW, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and instrumentation software (e.g., PLC programming software, SCADA systems).
- Solid understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles, including circuit theory, power systems, electronics, control systems, sensors, transmitters, actuators and electromagnetism.
- Ability to design, analyse, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing electrical engineering practices (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license may be required or preferred for certain roles, particularly those involving public safety or government contracts.
- Specific industry certifications or credentials related to specialised areas of electrical engineering may also be beneficial.
- Experience with industrial automation systems, such as PLCs, DCS, and HMI/SCADA systems.
