Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coating Advisor for our Client to oversee and ensure proper application of Protective and Marine coatings at project sites. The Coating Advisor will provide technical guidance, monitor surface preparation and paint application processes, and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Job Objectives
Coating Advisor/ Sr. Coating Advisor Job is to provide technical support / on site support for the business. Also as a Coating Advisor role, provide support to the Technical Manager in executing his/her plan of Training/ on site technical supervision.
Education Qualification / Other Soft Skill Requirement
- Well exposed to Technical / On site supervision.
- B.Sc /B.Tech. – Chemistry/ Paint OR Chemicals.
- Minimum of 4-5 Yrs of Experience in site management and providing Technical service to the Protective and Marine Coating Industry.
- Good knowledge about the various liquid coatings their specifications, application etc.
- Certified Coating Inspector qualification preferred (e.g., NACE Level 2 or 3, SSPC, FROSIO, BGAS).
- In-depth knowledge of surface preparation standards (SSPC, ISO), coating systems, and application equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in challenging site conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors, clients, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in reporting, documentation, and use of inspection tools. Willingness to travel and stay at project sites for extended periods as required.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and advise contractors and applicators on proper surface preparation, paint mixing, application techniques, and curing processe- sEnsure adherence to technical specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards for protective and marine paint systems
- .Conduct pre-application meetings with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and address technical queries
- .Perform on-site inspections, surface profile measurements, climatic condition checks, and wet & dry film thickness (DFT) monitoring
- .Prepare daily site reports detailing work progress, quality issues, corrective actions, and compliance with project schedules
- .Provide troubleshooting and solutions for on-site technical challenges, such as coating defects or environmental constraints
- .Coordinate with sales, technical, and R&D teams to provide feedback on product performance and client satisfaction
- .Conduct training sessions for contractors, applicators, and client teams on coating application best practices
- .Maintain updated knowledge of industry standards and certifications (ISO, SSPC, NACE, IMO, etc.)
- .Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
