Job Summary
The Bid & Tender Officer will be responsible for preparing, managing, and submitting bids and proposals to potential clients. This role involves reviewing tender documents, coordinating with internal teams, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and following up on bid status. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with prior experience in the engineering or oil & gas sector
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, review, and analyse new tender opportunities and RFPs.
- Coordinate and compile tender/bid submissions, including technical and commercial proposals.
- Liaise with internal departments (engineering, procurement, finance, etc.) to gather required documents and information.
- Ensure that all submissions meet customer specifications and comply with internal approval processes.
- Track and manage bid timelines to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and maintain a database of past tenders and outcomes for reference and reporting.
- Follow up on submitted bids and respond to post-tender clarifications.
- Analyse competitors’ bids and pricing trends.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and debriefings. Provide regular reports on bidding activity and status.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bid and tender preparation, preferably within an EPIC or engineering services company.
- Strong knowledge of tendering procedures in the oil & gas or construction sectors.
- Excellent writing, editing, and document formatting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good interpersonal and coordination skills.
Preferred Competencies
- Knowledge of Nigerian procurement laws and NCDMB guidelines.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with tender portals and online bidding systems
