IMC Plantations Limited (IMCP), established in 1975, has grown to become the largest Oil Palm plantation and Mill in Delta State, Nigeria, with over 160 direct employees and hundreds of seasonal workers. The company operates on a total of 4,145 hectares of land.
Our primary business activities revolve around cultivating oil palm trees and processing Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) into Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernel Oil (PKO), and Palm Kernel Cake (PKC). IMCP is on a transformative journey towards revitalizing its operations to become a top player in Nigeria's oil palm industry.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to support the efficient operation of our palm oil mill and associated production processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure optimal production output, equipment functionality, and adherence to safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that supports continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily operations of the palm oil mill and production line.
- Monitor production metrics to ensure output, efficiency, and quality targets are met.
- Support the planning and execution of production schedules in alignment with FFB supply.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure timely servicing of equipment.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production activities.
- Assist in staff supervision, training, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify areas for improvement and support initiatives to enhance production processes.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management. Work collaboratively with procurement, logistics, and plantation teams.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Minimum Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Production, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in agro-processing, manufacturing, or production environments. Preference will be given for someone with significant supervisor (of persons and processes) experience.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of processing machinery and plant operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality control regulations in food/agriculture sectors.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, planning, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Certifications: Professional certifications in engineering or related fields are a plus.
