Job Title: Account Officer (Junior)
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Finance Manager / Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: ADDAS Mall, Lagos Mainland
Salary: N100,000 – N120,000
Job Summary
The Account Officer is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting reporting functions, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. The role is integral to the store’s financial health and supports decision-making by providing timely and accurate financial data.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Transaction Management
- Record all sales, purchases, expenses, and payments in the accounting system.
- Monitor and reconcile Point of Sale (POS) transactions with bank records.
- Ensure accurate posting of cash, card, and transfer payments.
2. Bank & Cash Reconciliation
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements daily/weekly.
- Maintain petty cash records and prepare replenishment schedules.
- Report discrepancies or unusual transactions to the Finance Manager immediately.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Track outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
- Maintain accurate vendor and customer account records.
4. Inventory & Stock Accounting
- Work with the inventory team to reconcile stock movements and stock valuation.
- Post inventory adjustments and generate relevant reports for Finance.
- Assist in the costing of goods and analysis of shrinkage.
5. Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare ledgers, trial balances, and journal entries as required.
- Ensure timely filing and archiving of financial documents.
6. Compliance & Controls
- Adhere strictly to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
- Support audits by providing required financial documents and explanations. Ensure timely remittance of statutory obligations such as VAT, PAYE, and withholding tax.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ODDO, ICG, Zoho) and MS Excel is essential.
