The Accountant manages the organization’s financial processes, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and provides accurate financial reporting. The role oversees bookkeeping, payroll, tax filings, budget preparation, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
● Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
● Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.
● Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
● Develop budgets and monitor expenditures.
● File statutory taxes (VAT, PAYE, withholding tax) accurately and on time.
● Coordinate payroll processing and staff benefits.
● Maintain accurate general ledger records.
● Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
● Recommend cost-saving measures and financial controls.
● Advise management on financial strategy and risk management.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an advantage.
Minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
Strong knowledge of local tax laws and compliance.
