Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records of the company, ensuring accuracy in accounting, compliance with financial regulations, and supporting overall financial health. This role involves maintaining ledgers, preparing financial reports, managing inventory costing, and overseeing day-to-day financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Monitor production costs, inventory usage, and cost of goods sold to ensure accurate product costing.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Manage invoicing and follow up on receivables from customers.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, and remittances to government agencies.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Maintain records of raw materials, finished goods, and waste for cost control and reporting.
Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Provide financial insights to management for decision-making and process improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, inventory management, and cost accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
