We’re looking for a Technical SEO Developer with deep technical SEO expertise and full-stack Shopify development experience to lead backend SEO improvements, site speed optimization, and indexing health across multiple regions. This is a developer-level role, focused exclusively on technical performance, structured data, and resolving complex indexing issues — not general content or keyword optimization.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Technical SEO Implementation (Developer Scope Only):
- Audit and improve Core Web Vitals with hands-on code optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve indexing and crawling issues (Search Console errors, sitemap.xml, robots.txt)
- Implement and maintain structured data markup (JSON-LD) at scale
- Optimize site architecture, internal linking logic, and pagination handling
✅ Shopify Development Tasks:
- Debug and optimize Shopify Liquid code for speed and SEO compliance
- Minify and refactor CSS/JS, implement lazy loading, and resolve render-blocking resources
- Improve theme performance for mobile-first indexing standards
- Develop custom solutions to improve crawl budget efficiency
✅ Monitoring & Reporting:
- Regular performance audits using Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and Google Search Console
- Provide clear documentation on fixes, impact, and future recommendations
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of technical SEO experience focused on e-commerce sites
- Strong full-stack Shopify development experience (Liquid, JavaScript, CSS/HTML)
- Proven success resolving Core Web Vitals issues (LCP, INP, CLS)
- Deep knowledge of Google Search Console, crawling/indexing protocols
- Advanced experience implementing structured data (JSON-LD) at scale
- Proficiency with page speed optimization, browser rendering processes, and technical audits
Nice to Have:
- Experience with headless Shopify builds
- Familiarity with SEO automation tools (e.g., Screaming Frog API, custom scripts)
- Exposure to multi-region Shopify setups
Success Metrics
- Passing Core Web Vitals scores on mobile and desktop
- Significant improvements in crawl efficiency and indexing rates
- Zero critical SEO errors in Google Search Console
- Documented improvements in page load times
