Senior Flutter Developer – Unpaid, Remote

Overview:

Tikelt is redefining peer-to-peer payments in emerging markets with a focus on simplicity, security, and accessibility. As a fintech startup prioritizing user-centric design and innovation, we’re building a seamless mobile-first payment platform using Flutter to deliver a responsive, cross-platform experience.

We’re seeking a Senior Flutter Developer to lead the front-end architecture of our app. You’ll collaborate with backend teams to integrate secure payment systems while mentoring junior developers and shaping a scalable codebase. This volunteer role is ideal for experienced Flutter engineers eager to drive impact in a mission-driven fintech startup. High performers may transition to a paid role with equity post-funding.

Responsibilities:

• Flutter Architecture: Design and implement modular, high-performance UIs using Flutter’s widgets and Dart, leveraging state management (Provider, Riverpod, or Bloc).
• Cross-Platform Mastery: Optimize for iOS/Android consistency, ensuring smooth performance across devices.
• API Integration: Collaborate with backend teams to consume RESTful/GraphQL APIs powered by NestJS or Firebase.
• Reusable Widgets: Build and maintain a scalable component library for core app features (e.g., payment flows, authentication).
• UI/UX Collaboration: Partner with designers to translate wireframes into intuitive, pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Security & Compliance: Implement secure authentication, data encryption, and PCI/DSS compliance in the frontend.
• Testing & Optimization: Write unit/integration tests and optimize widgets to reduce latency and memory usage.
Mentorship & Leadership: Guide junior Flutter developers and interns through code reviews and technical roadmaps.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years in mobile development, with deep expertise in Flutter and Dart.
• Proficiency in state management tools (e.g., Riverpod, Provider) and navigation APIs.
• Experience building cross-platform apps with REST/GraphQL (or Firebase) integration.
• Strong grasp of responsive design principles and Flutter’s widget system.
• Familiarity with Agile workflows, Git, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Bonus: Knowledge of payment gateways, fintech compliance (PCI, GDPR), or backend services (Node.js/NestJS).
