About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Sales/Marketing Manager to lead agro commodity sales operations with a focus on FMCG, rice, and edible oil. The ideal candidate must have a strong network of buyers in Jigawa State, Kano State, and Niger Republic, along with a proven ability to drive sales growth, expand market reach, and manage relationships in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive growth in the agro commodity segment, particularly rice and edible oil.
2. Manage and expand the company’s buyer network across key markets in Jigawa, Kano, and Niger Republic.
3. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in both wholesale and retail sectors.
4. Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
5. Lead negotiations, close high-value deals, and manage key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
6. Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and distribution.
7. Provide accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and budgeting aligned with business objectives.
8. Ensure compliance with regional trade and export requirements, especially for cross-border transactions.
9. Travel extensively across the assigned territories to engage with partners, distributors, and customers.
Education:
1. BSc. in Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
2. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience
1. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales/marketing, with a significant focus on FMCG and agro commodities (rice and edible oil preferred).
2. Experience working within structured FMCG organizations is required.
Other requirements
1. Strong network of regional and cross-border buyers in Northern Nigeria and Niger Republic.
2. Fluency or a working knowledge of Hausa language is essential.
3. Willingness and ability to travel frequently or relocate within the coverage region.
