We are a dynamic international consulting firm providing end-to-end market entry, regulatory compliance, and business development solutions for businesses seeking to establish or expand their operations across Africa. As part of our growing Nigeria market practice, we are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Consulting Partner to lead and guide our clients through the complex regulatory landscape of Nigeria.
Position Summary:
The Regulatory Compliance Consulting Partner will serve as the lead expert and advisor for businesses aiming to enter or expand in the Nigerian market. The role requires in-depth expertise in Nigerian business regulatory laws, corporate compliance, product registration, operational licensing, and other statutory obligations. The ideal candidate must be a qualified lawyer in Nigeria with extensive practical experience advising businesses on regulatory requirements across industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead consultant for regulatory compliance and business registration services for clients entering or expanding into Nigeria.
- Provide expert advisory on business incorporation processes, licensing, regulatory permits, and statutory filings in Nigeria.
- Guide clients through product registration processes with key Nigerian regulatory bodies (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, NCC, NESREA, DPR, CAC, FIRS, and others).
- Interpret and apply Nigerian regulatory laws and policies affecting various sectors including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, energy, fintech, healthcare, and others.
- Conduct regulatory due diligence and gap analysis for clients.
- Maintain active relationships with Nigerian regulatory agencies to stay updated on evolving compliance requirements.
- Support clients in obtaining all necessary approvals, certifications, and licenses for smooth business operations.
- Prepare detailed regulatory compliance reports, procedural guides, and documentation for internal and client use.
- Collaborate with the broader consulting team on market entry strategy development, risk assessments, and operational advisory services.
- Serve as a thought leader in Nigerian regulatory compliance, providing regular briefings and updates to both clients and internal teams.
Key Requirements:
- Must be a qualified and licensed Lawyer in Nigeria (BL, LLB, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in regulatory compliance consulting, corporate law, or related advisory roles in Nigeria.
- Advanced knowledge of Nigerian business laws, corporate governance, product registration procedures, licensing processes, and sector-specific regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of the operations of key regulatory bodies such as CAC, NAFDAC, SON, NESREA, FIRS, NCC, DPR, and others.
- Demonstrated experience advising foreign and domestic companies on Nigerian market entry and operational compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong professional network within regulatory and legal circles in Nigeria.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Attributes:
- Prior experience in international consulting or cross-border advisory services.
- Exposure to multiple sectors such as pharmaceuticals, fintech, FMCG, energy, or manufacturing.
- Membership of professional associations such as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and relevant regulatory associations.
