Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Python Tutor to join their training team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have solid programming experience and a proven track record of teaching Python effectively, particularly to young learners who are eager to start their journey in tech. You will play a key role in equipping students with the foundational and practical skills they need to code confidently, think logically, and solve problems creatively.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Python lessons tailored for young learners.
- Break down complex programming concepts into simple, relatable examples.
- Create and share learning materials, coding exercises, and mini-projects.
- Foster a supportive, encouraging, and interactive learning environment.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Inspire students to explore coding beyond the classroom and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
- Ensure lesson content aligns with current Python best practices and industry trends.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Python programming (3+ years preferred).
- Prior experience teaching or mentoring, preferably with young learners (teens or pre-teens).
- Strong understanding of Python fundamentals: data types, control structures, functions, OOP, file handling, and libraries.
- Ability to integrate practical applications such as web development, data analysis, or automation in teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work weekends consistently.
- Creativity and patience in teaching programming to beginners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with educational tools such as Jupyter Notebook, Visual Studio Code, or online learning platforms.
- Experience organizing hackathons, coding challenges, or student projects.
Work Schedule
- Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays (specific hours to be agreed upon).
