Job Purpose To plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Islamic Religious Studies that promote students’ spiritual, moral, and intellectual growth. The teacher will foster an environment where students develop knowledge of Islamic beliefs, practices, values, history, and ethics, while also encouraging tolerance, respect, and critical thinking. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Develop lesson plans in line with the approved IRS curriculum. Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons that cater to diverse learning abilities. Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance learning. Encourage students to apply Islamic principles in their daily lives while fostering respect for other faiths. Student Development Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students. Provide constructive feedback to support students’ learning and personal development. Guide students in moral and ethical reasoning through Islamic teachings. Classroom & School Contribution Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes discipline, respect, and cooperation. Participate in school activities, assemblies, and community events that promote values education. Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary projects and school-wide programs. Professional Duties Keep accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and student performance. Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development programs. Uphold the ethos, values, and mission of the school. Qualifications & Skills A Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies, Religious Education, or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification (PGDE, NCE, B.Ed., TRCN certification, or equivalent). Sound knowledge of Islamic theology, Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history. Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills. Ability to integrate modern teaching methods and educational technology. Strong moral character and a role model for students.
