We are seeking a passionate and experienced Government and History Teacher to inspire and educate our students.
**Job Summary**
The Government and History Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in Government and History to students across various levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the subjects, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Government and History in line with the school’s curriculum.
- Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and an appreciation for civic responsibilities and historical events among students.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and debate.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches to teaching.
- Support students in preparing for examinations and activities such as debates, quizzes, and historical presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
**Requirements**
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Government and History in a reputable school.
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Political Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of Government, History, and curriculum standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Familiarity with Lagos State educational guidelines and examination requirements is a plus.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to student-centered learning.
