Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking a strategic and experienced General Manager to oversee and professionalize operations across our expanding portfolio of restaurants, cafes, and bakery outlets. This full-time, on-site position based in Abuja will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, ensuring brand consistency, and positioning the company for scalable growth in the food and hospitality industry.
The General Manager will be responsible for leading multi-unit operations, building high-performing teams, and ensuring profitability while maintaining Madidi Foods’ commitment to quality and exceptional customer experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of the food & beverage industry, strong organizational skills, and the ability to implement systems that sustain performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operations across all Madidi Foods outlets, ensuring seamless service and adherence to brand standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to drive efficiency, sales growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage and mentor outlet managers, chefs, and department leads, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff at all levels.
- Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the company.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Marketing, and HR to optimize resource use and control costs.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, resolve challenges, and improve profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all outlets.
- Drive special projects and expansion initiatives, including franchising and product diversification.
- Report directly to the Managing Director on operational performance, risks, and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in the food & beverage industry, with multi-unit management preferred.
- Strong business acumen and ability to manage budgets, KPIs, and operational targets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety standards, and customer service excellence.
- Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management tools, and operational analytics.
- Experience in scaling operations and implementing structured processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
