<strong>Job Title: Functional Tester<br /> Location: Abuja, Nigeria<br /> Employment Type: Contract<br /> Job Summary:</strong><br /> Tezza Business Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Functional Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating business requirements through systematic testing of software applications. You will ensure that functionalities perform as expected and meet end-user needs across both web and mobile platforms.<br /> <br /> <strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong> <ul> <li>Understand and analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.</li> <li>Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to validate system functionalities.</li> <li>Execute manual functional tests on web, desktop, and mobile applications.</li> <li>Document and report defects clearly, and follow up with the development team for resolution.</li> <li>Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing after code changes or deployments.</li> <li>Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.</li> <li>Participate in sprint planning, review, and daily stand-ups as part of the Agile process.</li> <li>Ensure test coverage across multiple modules, including positive, negative, and edge test cases.</li> <li>Provide input into UAT planning and support end-user testing when necessary.</li> <li>Maintain test documentation and ensure traceability between requirements and test cases.</li> </ul> <strong>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications:</strong> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing or QA roles.</li> <li>Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing lifecycle (STLC).</li> <li>Experience testing web and mobile applications across various browsers and devices.</li> <li>Proficiency with tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, Jira, Confluence, or similar.</li> <li>Ability to write and execute detailed test cases and test scripts.</li> <li>Solid understanding of functional, regression, usability, and exploratory testing.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li> </ul> <strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.</li> <li>ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent is a plus.</li> <li>Experience in API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI is an advantage.</li> <li>Exposure to test automation frameworks (even at a basic level) is a bonus.</li> </ul>
