Unpaid Internship — Full Stack Developer (Remote)

Duration: 3 months — Start date: Monday, August 25, 2025

Location: Lagos (role is remote / applicants from anywhere may apply)

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will join a high-intensity, no-frills internship. The project is partially built — your job will be to clean up, analyze the existing codebase and keep building. Expect to be the main (often only) developer. There is no designer or finished UI; you must be able to implement and iterate on UI/UX yourself.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze and understand an existing JS codebase, propose fixes and improvements.

Deliver 3 pages per week (frontend + backend work as required).

Build frontend interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React.

Build backend services using Node.js and integrate with MongoDB.

Deploy and maintain web apps and websites.

Own features from prototyping to deployment, work quickly and reliably.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Solid HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

React for frontend.

Node.js (Express) for backend.

MongoDB or similar document DB experience.

Deployment experience (web hosting, CI/CD, basic ops).

Comfortable implementing UI without a designer and able to analyze/clean someone else’s code.

Portfolio with recent projects or links showing your work.

TIME COMMITMENT

10–14 hours per week.

Max ~2 hours per day (flexible schedule but strict availability for weekly deliverables).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Unpaid internship.

PROOF-OF-WORK (POW) CERTIFICATE / CERTIFICATE OF WORK upon successful completion.

REFERENCE LETTER after 3 months.

Referrals and bonus compensation if the project is deployed and achieves revenue milestones.

Potential full-time offer if milestones are met and performance is excellent.

LEGAL & ADMIN

We will use an official email for proof of employment and for termination/end-of-work notices.

Basic IP agreement and formal internship agreement required.
