The Financial Accountant works closely with the Head Teacher, School Bursar & the Management Accountant to provide effective support to the Bursar in the administration of financial procedures within the school.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Conduct data and statistical analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, or risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support budget planning.
- Implement improvements to financial processes and accounting practices.
- Manage tax reporting and assist with statutory returns. Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and vendors as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in accounting
- Professional accounting qualifications, such as ICAN, ACCA, will be an advantage
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP), Microsoft Excel, and other relevant tools.
- Process and deadline-driven mindset with a keen eye for details.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- A strong negotiator who can develop ongoing working relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies
