- We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Farm Manager to oversee the planning, production, and management of open field habanero and greenhouse bell pepper operations.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial vegetable production, agronomy, and team leadership, with proven success in managing both open field and protected cropping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the entire lifecycle of habanero (open field) and bell pepper (greenhouse) production—from land preparation and planting to harvesting and post-harvest handling.
- Monitor crop health and implement integrated pest and disease management strategies.
- Optimize irrigation scheduling and fertigation plans for both open field and greenhouse environments.
- Ensure the correct use and maintenance of agricultural machinery and greenhouse equipment.
- Supervise and train farm staff, laborers, and technicians to ensure high productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of inputs, outputs, yields, labor, and other operational data.
- Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams for timely delivery of produce to market or processing.
- Monitor and manage farm budgets, input costs, and labor expenses.
- Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and food safety standards (e.g., GlobalGAP, HACCP, etc.).
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial production of open field habanero and greenhouse bell peppers.
- Strong technical knowledge in crop nutrition, irrigation, pest/disease management, and greenhouse operations.
- Experience with modern farm management tools, technologies, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends, during peak seasons.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to relocate and live on the farm.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with climate control systems, fertigation units, and drip irrigation.
- Ability to interpret soil and plant tissue analysis reports.
- Knowledge of export quality standards for peppers.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other local language) is a plus.
Salary Range
N200,000 - N300,000 / Month.
