- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature in English.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and oral communication skills.
- Guide students in the appreciation, analysis, and interpretation of literary texts (poetry, prose, and drama).
- Develop schemes of work, lesson notes, and assessment tools in line with the curriculum.
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations (e.g., WAEC, NECO, IGCSE where applicable).
- Assess, record, and report on students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Encourage a love for reading and creative expression through class activities, debates, and projects.
- Maintain effective classroom management that fosters discipline, respect, and active learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school management to improve teaching standards.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as literary clubs, drama, and debates.
