About the Role:
A reputable secondary school in Ipaja, Lagos is seeking a passionate and qualified Economics Teacher to join its teaching staff. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in Economics, inspire academic excellence, and prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and other external examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Economics lessons to senior secondary school students.
- Prepare students for both internal assessments and national examinations (WAEC/NECO).
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials aligned with the curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, respectful, and focused classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school programs.
Requirements:
- B.Ed./B.Sc. in Economics, Education, or a related discipline (with teaching qualification preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Economics at the secondary school level.
- Sound understanding of the Nigerian curriculum and examination formats.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and presentation skills.
- Must be passionate about student development and academic success.
- Must reside in or around Ipaja, Lagos, or be willing to relocate.
