Role Overview

We are actively seeking a Data Engineering Specialist with a proven track record of technical excellence and mentorship. This is a high-responsibility role requiring deep subject-matter expertise and a results-oriented approach to developing the next generation of data engineers. The successful candidate will lead interns through rigorous, real-world data engineering projects, offer structured feedback, and ensure consistent technical growth and professional discipline across our internship program.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical mentor and coach to interns, ensuring timely and constructive feedback on their work across multiple data engineering projects.
• Design and maintain high-quality, industry-relevant case studies, project scenarios, and technical assessments.
• Monitor intern performance rigorously, documenting progress and identifying areas requiring intervention or additional support.
• Conduct detailed code reviews, troubleshooting, and walkthroughs of data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and database schemas.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials and documentation in line with current industry standards.
• Lead interns in deploying data solutions using production-grade tools and environments.
• Collaborate with other technical mentors and Amdari staff to continuously raise the bar for project quality and learning outcomes.
• Represent Amdari’s technical excellence by facilitating public knowledge sessions or training events when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering with demonstrated success designing and managing data pipelines and architectures at scale.
• Strong mentoring, training, or team leadership experience, particularly in virtual or distributed environments.
• Deep expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data engineering frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark).
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data engineering deployments.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Apache Kafka, Snowflake, or Redshift is strongly required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and with authority.
• A portfolio of completed and deployed data engineering projects is mandatory for consideration. Applications without verifiable project experience will not be reviewed.
