DUTIES / OVERVIEW
ICU nurse provides specialized care to critically ill patients, requiring advanced skills in monitoring, assessment, and treatment of complex medical conditions. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, often involving advanced life support therapies and specialized equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES (What you will be doing)
- Assess a patient's vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation .
- Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed by the physician .
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings to ensure optimal patient respiratory function .
- Perform neurological assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans .
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families, explaining their condition and treatment plan .
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record .
- Respond to code blue emergencies and provide advanced life support measures .
- Participate in rounds with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient progress and plan care
REQUIREMENTS (What we are looking for)
- Post-Basic Diploma in Critical Care Nursing
- Valid Nursing License
- Suitable clinical experience is advantageous.
