Job Description/Requirements
An Oil and Gas servicing company located in Lagos State is seeking to hire a Bid and Tender / Marketing Officer. This role involves managing the full bidding process, liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders, and ensuring full compliance with tender requirements. The ideal candidate shall also be involved in marketing the services of the organization to its target market.
Bid and Tender Officer Responsibilities:
Identify and track relevant tender opportunities from NIPEX, NAPIMS, IOCs, and other public or private sources.
Review bid documents, extract key requirements, and prepare comprehensive checklists and timelines.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses.
Work closely with technical, commercial, legal, finance, HSE, and supply chain teams to gather and compile accurate data and information.
Draft and edit bid content, including capability statements, technical proposals, and commercial offers.
Ensure all bid submissions comply with client specifications, NCDMB requirements, and Nigerian procurement laws.
Act as the primary liaison between the company and clients, government agencies, and partners during the bidding process.
Monitor submitted bids, track progress, and follow up on clarifications, evaluations, and outcomes.
Maintain a well-organized tender library and archive of past submissions, supporting documents, and compliance records.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to improve pricing strategy and win rates.
Marketing Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a marketing intelligence system to monitor market trends, client procurement cycles, competitor activities, and potential new business opportunities in the midstream oil and gas sector.
Support the preparation and customization of marketing materials such as capability statements, company profiles, and brochures for use in EOIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
Ensure the company website and other digital platforms are updated with relevant certifications, recent projects, and bid-related credentials, as directed by Management.
Maintain a database of client contact information, project histories, and bid outcomes to support future marketing and client engagement efforts.
Coordinate the collection of technical content, past performance data, and HSE records for use in marketing sections of tender submissions.
Prepare basic competitor comparison charts and pricing benchmarks using publicly available information or feedback from past bids.
Assist with logistics and documentation for industry events or trade fairs, as directed by Management.
Provide administrative support for marketing outreach efforts, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentation decks, and tracking follow-up actions.
Liaise with internal departments to ensure alignment between marketing content and actual service delivery capabilities, as directed by Management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bid and Tender Officer in a similar role, preferably within the oil and gas servicing sector in Nigeria.
Strong understanding of the tendering process through NIPEX, IOCs, and NCDMB compliance systems.
Demonstrable record of successful contract awards.
Possess a strong network of contacts within key IOCs, NOCs, and regulatory bodies.
Demonstrated ability to leverage existing relationships to gather insights, monitor bid opportunities, and support the company’s visibility and credibility during tendering.
Ability to confidently engage with client representatives, attend industry forums, and represent the company professionally during stakeholder interactions.
Familiarity with local content requirements and preferred vendor lists of major operators.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent bids.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent proposal writing ability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and tender tracking tools.
Ability to handle sensitive business information with confidentiality and integrity.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
