Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team on an equity basis. This is a unique opportunity to become a key financial partner in a high-impact startup, contributing to our growth and success while earning equity ownership in the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Support preparation for audits and investor reporting.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to optimize financial processes and controls.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within startups or SMEs.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote teams.
- Passion for startups and women’s health is a plus.
Compensation & Equity
- This role is 100% equity-based with no fixed salary until January 2026.
- We intend to commence salaried operations starting January 2026, at which point a competitive salary will be offered in addition to equity.
- Equity stake will be granted based on experience and contribution, with clear terms outlined in a formal agreement.
