Job Summary: The Accountant will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations for Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting business operations, and contributing to the company's financial health and transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations in Nigeria.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budget.
- Process payroll, manage employee expense reports, and handle other financial administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business decision-making.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience (3 - 5years) as an Accountant, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Nigerian tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
